Q. When will Santa be visiting Christmas Light Fest?

A.  Santa will be visiting his favorite Texas ranch each weekend before Christmas, as well as the last full week before the big day:  Nov. 24 – 26, Dec. 2 – 3, Dec. 9 – 10 and EVERY night Dec. 16 – 24. Bring your wish list and your camera—there’s no charge for photos with Santa at Christmas Light Fest, making it the place to be to get your picture-perfect holiday photo.

Q.  Is there a fee for photos with Santa?

A.  No, pictures with Santa are always free at Christmas Light Fest, and there’s no better place to take the perfect holiday picture than in front of the fireplace at Santa’s Village. And for a truly Texas picture, be sure to stop and feed Santa’s Longhorns! They’re relaxing at Christmas Light Fest to get ready to pull Santa across Texas and are ready to meet and greet—and eat!—when you come to visit.

Q.  Do I need to buy a vehicle pass and hayride tickets to enjoy Christmas Light Fest?

A.  No. There are two options to enjoy Christmas Light Fest:  drive through the ranch grounds and take in the festive displays from the comfort of your own vehicle, or experience the picturesque setting ranch-style, catching a hayride to tour the lights. Tickets are $27 per vehicle to tour the ranch, or hop on a bale of hay, relax and take in the night air while you enjoy a holiday extravaganza under the amazing night sky. If you choose to enjoy a hayride, you’ll be directed to park your vehicle. Hayrides are $15 per rider and parking is free. Hayride space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance online. Vehicle and hayride tickets are available for purchase here.

Q. If we do a hayride, can we still enjoy Santa’s Village?

A.  Of course! Hayride tours make stops at Santa’s Village. Don’t forget to stop by and feed Santa’s Longhorns—after all, in Texas, Santa needs more than reindeer to pull his sleigh!

Q. How do I make hayride reservations?

A.  Tickets for hayrides are $15 and must be purchased in advance online. When you purchase your tickets, you can select the time of your ride. Hayride tickets must be redeemed for the date and time you select. You can purchase tickets here. Private hayrides are also available by reservation, so gather your friends and family for a unique holiday get-together and reserve a private hayride here. Private hayrides are $150 and include up to 20 people.

Q. What payment methods are accepted?

A:  Tickets may be purchased in advance online via credit card. At the gate, cash and credit cards are accepted. In Santa’s Village, all vendors accept cash and credit cards.

Q.  Do you offer any discounts?

A.  Christmas Light Fest offers all members of the military (active duty, reserves and retired) and their families a $5 discount on vehicle passes. First responders and emergency personnel and their families also receive these discounts throughout the holiday season. Simply show your ID at the Christmas Light Fest gate to receive your discount. Thank you for your service to our country and all you do to keep us safe!

Q. What time is the best time to come?

A. Weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) are our busiest, but we anticipate getting busier as Christmas gets closer. Each night varies, but coming right when we open (6 p.m. nightly) is generally not as busy as it can get later on in the evening.

Q. What type of food is available?

A.  Nestled within the ranch grounds, Santa’s Village is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a variety of holiday flavors including s’mores, coffee, hot chocolate, kettle corn, sausage on a stick and of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas in South Texas without delicious, warm tamales! Additional food and beverages will also be available.

Q.  Is this a drive-thru light show or can we walk around?

A.  Christmas Light Fest is a bit of both. To tour the lights, you can either drive through in your own car or enjoy a hayride through the lights, but there is no walking through the displays.  Within the ranch at Santa’s Village, you are able to park your car, visit (and feed!) Santa’s Longhorns and enjoy food, drinks and shopping, along with musical performances and more. You can visit Santa and take free photos on Fridays and Saturdays before Christmas, as well as the last full week before the big day (Dec. 16 – 24).

Q.  Are pets allowed?

A.  Pets are allowed to enjoy the lights in your personal vehicle and pets on a leash are allowed in Santa’s Village. Pets are not allowed on hayrides. Properly identified service animals are always welcome.

Q.  Are busses and tour groups allowed?

A.  Buses and large groups are more than welcome to enjoy Christmas Light Fest. Tickets are $27 per vehicle and $1 per person over 10 people, making Christmas Light Fest the perfect setting to celebrate the holiday season with youth groups, high school clubs or play groups.

Q. Does a vehicle pass cover a car pulling a small flatbed trailer of family members?

A.  Yes, our vehicle pass includes the small flatbed trailer. Please remember safety first—all passengers must remain in the trailer.

Q.  Is there anything we should bring to make our experience better?

A.   If you’re going on a hayride and we’re enjoying cooler Christmas weather, be sure to dress appropriately. You are more than welcome to bring a blanket along to enjoy the lights. We also sell hot chocolate, make your own s'mores, sausage on a stick, tamales and more to help warm you from the inside out and offer a larger selection of food and beverages on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, don't forget to bring your camera! Santa will be here and available for free photos every weekend and the last full week before Christmas.

Q.  Do you ever close during the holiday season?

A.  We’re always in the holiday spirit, but we also want to be sure that all of our fellow Light lovers are safe.
